Secure Enterprise Communications In
today’s cutthroat markets the loss of privileged information
constitutes one of the most dangerous threats to every
business. Worldwide, eavesdropping has reached epidemic
proportions. The American Society for Industrial Security
(ASIS) estimated “potential losses from intellectual
property theft for US-based companies to be more than $300
billion annually”. Phone
calls carry the very latest information and put
organizations’ most critical secrets at risk while the
Internet is literally bursting with information and
instructions on how to eavesdrop on wireline and mobile
phones, securing the voice and fax communications becomes a
competitive factor.
The Concept
The
Snapzone™ solution enables enterprises to establish a secure VPN (Virtual
Private Network) for voice and fax communications over the
enterprise’s telephone network infrastructure, the PSTN and
GSM networks. Secure small and medium size organizations
Secure Fax Communications
The Snapzone is transparent to users – all users continue to send faxes as usual. If the destination fax is part of the Snapzone members list, the calling Snapfone initiates a secure fax connection, if not, a regular connection is established. It is as simple as that!
Secure Teleconferencing
Component Description
Snapfone™
All Snapfone devices belonging to one group are configured
with the same list of telephone numbers or prefixes – the VPN
list.
Whenever a
Snapzone user
dials a number that is part of the VPN list – his Snapfone will
automatically seek to reach the called party in a secure way.
Most important: none of the parties is required to press any button or to perform any other action in order to secure the call.
In this way one does not
need to worry about the privacy of his calls; all calls to his
Snapzone members
will be seamlessly and transparently secure.
The management software enables the system administrators to configure and maintain the Snapzone members list. The system supports up to 100 telephone numbers and prefixes. The Snapfone’s software can be programmed and upgraded factory based, remotely or via a RS232 connection to PC. The Snapfone can be controlled and operated remotely via DTMF. Bi-directional DTMF and signaling bits to the carrier are transferred transparently.
Snapfone™
Features Public Key Cryptography (Diffie-Hellman) for key exchanging and Symmetric block
cipher
(3DES) algorithm for session encryption].
Snapcell™ The Snapzone solution consists also of a set of encryption termination units, Snapcell™, which are installed as an accessory on Sony-Ericsson cellular handsets
Whenever
a subscriber wishes to place a secure call from his cellular
handset, the Snapcell will first establish a data session with another
Snapcell device and will
create a modem session and after successfully synchronized,
will establish an agreement key session using Diffie-Hellman algorithm
in order to generate a mutual secret AES key that will secure
the channel.
The Snapcell’s software can be programmed and upgraded factory based, remotely or via a USB connection to PC.
